In the 1970s, Milos "Sharkey" Begovich, a visionary with a passion for boxing and community, transformed a humble cow pasture behind his casino into an open-air boxing arena. From 1973 to 1991, Sharkey's Cow Pasture Boxing became a beloved annual event in Gardnerville, Nevada, drawing crowds eager to witness both professional bouts and local talents under the expansive Nevada sky .

Fast forward to September 4, 2025, and the legacy of Cow Pasture Boxing is set to be honored with the all new Douglas County Rodeo Fight Night at Carson Valley Inn's TJ's Corral.
